THE STEPS FOR PMU BROW AFTERCARE:

Following the proper aftercare is key to achieving the best possible results from your permanent makeup procedure.

Your new powder brows will take 14 days to heal, on average.

Immediately after your appointment

It is normal for your eyebrows to appear dark in colour and for the area surrounding the brows to be slightly red. However, the redness will usually subside within 2-3 hours. It is also normal to feel slight tingling, tenderness and swelling in the area, but these effects will soon subside. Do not touch your eyebrows and avoid having your hair brush against the eyebrow area.

Before going to bed, clean your eyebrows with a fragrance-free gentle cleanser (like this one here) and pad dry with a clean, disposable paper towel or tissue. After this, do not get the brows wet at all for 24 hours.

Going forward, wash your eyebrows once a day using a fragrance-free gentle cleanser. Be careful not to scratch or rub your eyebrows although they may feel itchy during healing. Scratching could cause premature pigment loss and thus uneven healed results.

On days 4-6

Your eyebrows may start to scab in some areas. Your eyebrows may look/feel dry or flakey, this is completely normal and expected. As your eyebrows start scabbing, start to apply a very thin layer of the aftercare ointment (provided during the appointment) twice a day, until your brows are fully healed.

Within 2 weeks

You must keep your eyebrows as dry as possible and avoid swimming, heavy sweating, tanning, and going into saunas. You must also refrain from wearing any products aside from what is given to you (i.e moisturizer, makeup) on the eyebrows until they are fully healed. You may still wear makeup on the rest of your face. Keep this in mind when booking so you can plan your appointment around vacations or special occasions.

Below are some general instructions that will help prevent any infections and ensure a healthy and clean healing process. A more detailed copy of eyebrow aftercare will be provided to all my clients during the appointment.

On average, all the scabs would have fallen by day 14. At this point, you can go back to your normal face routine. However, do avoid using products containing AHA/BHA/Retin-A as this will fade the brow colour. Your eyebrows may seem light in colour immediately after the scabs have fallen, but more pigment will rise to the surface in the next 2 weeks.

By week 4

you will see your fully healed new eyebrows in their true colour! If you wish to darken them, now is the time to book your complimentary touchup session.

Healed results may vary depending on your skin type, lifestyle, history, and aftercare taken. Keep in mind permanent makeup is designed to enhance your natural features rather than replacing/changing your look completely.
