  • Should I curl my natural lashes before my lash appointment?
Nope! We prefer to work with your natural lashes… straight lashes are better for the adhesive to bond and hold the lash extension.
  • What happens if i fall asleep? Is that okay?
Absolutely! Don’t worry about falling asleep, your lash artist wants you to be as comfortable as possible during your appointment! It does not bother us at all. Lash naps are amazing.
  • What can I do to make my lashes stay longer?
The best tip is to stop touching them, the oils in your fingers can break down the adhesive, not to mention that you are probably pulling some off on your own. The less you mess with them the better off you’ll be. Next, follow the proper aftercare instructions. Cleaning, paying attention to sleep positions, washing them and etc. Even consider going a length shorter or thinner diameter to increase retention! And lastly, keep up with your fills on the regular
  • I can’t leave my house without mascara, I really can’t wear any?
YEP! You are correct! We know that you’re busy and so if you’re coming from work or running errands, please arrive to your appointment early to clean your lashes onsite so when your lash artist is ready to start your lashes, you’re ready to go!
  • Will extensions hurt or harm my natural lashes?
Since extensions are applied to your existing natural lashes, away from the base of your skin, the natural lashes are not harmed. Extensions should not force natural lash to shed or break unless improperly applied or the extension is too heavy for the natural lash.
  • Are eyelash extensions safe to get when you are pregnant?
Generally speaking, eyelash extensions are a safe and non-invasive cosmetic procedure. Necessary precautions need to be taken by your lash technician during the appointment✨. It is always recommended to 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧 before getting lashes while pregnant. 👩🏻‍ * For most women, sensitivity to smell is higher during pregnancy. They become more conscious of chemicals and other things. It is important that the lash studio where you are getting your treatment is well ventilated. 🫧 * An eyelash appointment can take up to three hours where the client typically lays flat on their back. Laying flat on their back is not a recommended position for pregnant women especially if they’ve reached over 20 weeks. It is recommended for pregnant clients to lie on their side with their heads straight during the procedure.🤍 * The client can also put a pillow behind their spine, under their leg, or between the legs to provide comfort and support; this can help relax and reduce stress.😌 * Small breaks should be incorporated within the appointment to help the appointment go smoothly. You can even opt to go through with the application of one eye at a time. And don’t forget to take your time. 💤
  • Do you offer foreign fills?
Unfortunately at Cube Beauty, we do not offer foreign fills. This is due to many reasons such as differences in products, techniques, and tracking your retention. Removal and a new set is what I suggest to new clients or you can wait it out until they are all gone and we can give you a full set! Totally up to you!
  • Will I be able to sense that I am wearing lash extensions?
The extensions are placed 0.5-1mm from the base of the lashline. Therefore, you won't be able to feel the extensions.
  • How long are eyelash extension appointments?
Your very first lash appointment will be a full set of lashes and will take around 2-3 hours to complete. If you’re going to get your lashes filled it will take between 1-2hrs, depending on look and how many healthy natural lashes you have.
  • If I am coming for a fill, should I wash my lashes?
Yes! Washing your lashes twice per day with a lash-safe cleanser is important. Cleaning your lashes will not only extend the life of your lashes but will keep them clean and looking fresh each day! It will also help prevent any irritations and bacteria that build up on your lash line.
  • Can I wear my contacts?
We suggest removing your contacts when you arrive at your appointment just to ensure as little irritation during your appointment as possible.
  • Can I wear makeup to my lash appointment?
It’s required that your eye area be clean and completely free of makeup. Please attempt to not wear (near the eye area) moisturizer, foundation, under eye concealer, mascara, etc. You will be required to remove any makeup/moisturizer around your eye area before the start of your appointment. Come prepared with a clean face so your artist has the most time possible to spend on your lashes. It is required to shower before your appointment but if you’re coming from work, try not to use an oil-based makeup remover as it leaves a residue. Washing your makeup off with a cleanser and water are best.
  • Is the application process painful at all?
No! Not at all + if they are applied properly they shouldn’t hurt! Eyelash extensions are applied directly to the eyelash itself, so there is zero contact with the skin. The lash appointment may feel a little weird the first time, but once you get used to the process you should be so comfortable that you even want to nap! At Cube Beauty we use high-quality, low-fume glue, which (unlike cheaper products) does not burn or sting. ⚡️ People with extremely sensitive eyes or sinus problems may get some watering and slight stinging at the end, but this normally subsides within seconds. Please alert us if you are experiencing any stinging during the treatment – some individuals with very dry eyes/eyes that don’t close properly may do, and we will adjust our procedure to keep you comfortable.
  • What are lash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent synthetic fibers used to create more volume while lengthening and extending your natural eyelash. There are two different types: classics - one single extension to one natural eyelash + volumes - customized handmade fans are made from multiple smaller lash extension fibers and are wrapped on each individual natural eyelash
  • What are eyelash extensions made of?
Eyelash extensions are made of a premium synthetic material called PBT. Polybutylene terephthalate is a synthetic semi-crystalline engineered thermoplastic or is a thermoplastic engineering polymer. All lashes whether synthetic mink, synthetic silk, or supermink are made of PBT.
  • What should I wear to my lash appointment?
Be comfortable! You’re laying down for between 2-3 hours so dress comfy, bring socks and sweater just in case.
  • Should I bring my headphones?
Absolutely! If you’re planning to listen to music or a podcast during your appointment bring your headphones! We suggest having a playlist/podcast lined up as you won’t be able to open your eyes during the appointment.
  • Is the adhesive safe?
Yes! The adhesive provides low fumes with a long hold time of up to 8 weeks and 0.5-2 second bond time.
  • How much should I tip my lash artist?
The standard tip range is between 15-20%.
  • What about my cellphone?
You will likely use your phone for your music or podcast, which is great. but we ask that you silence your phone and text notifications as it’s a distraction. Most clients view their lash appointment as a time to disconnect and relax.
  • Can I wear makeup with eyelash extensions?
No mascara or eyeliner is needed. If wearing eyeshadows or liners, proper cleansing is imperative.
  • My own lashes have been coming off with the extension, is this normal?
Some people aren't aware, but we lose anywhere from 1 to 5 natural lashes per day — just like hairs on our heads, they replace themselves as new ones grow! You will notice that you lose more natural lashes than normal twice a year (usually at the end of Summer and the beginning of Spring) – this is called seasonal shedding, and you will normally find that your lashes seem to be falling out more quickly than normal –and that a lot of new baby lashes have come through at your next appointment. Don't be alarmed; it happens to everyone once or twice a year, and if you're concerned, contact or speak with your lash artist, who can examine the health of your lashes at any time!
  • Do I need to take a break with lash extensions? If so, how often?
With proper application and aftercare your natural eyelashes should not be damaged. But if you get lash extensions often (you keep up with your refills) and you are hitting 6 months to a year of being consistent, a two week break can be beneficial but is not completely necessary! If their lash break exceeds two weeks, some clients opt for lash lifts to still have an additional ‘umph’ to their lashline without the worry of extensions. However if you decide to continue getting lash extensions without taking a break we do recommend keeping up with cleaning your lashes daily and even using a eyelash safe serum to maintain and strengthen the natural lashes.
  • How long do lash extensions last?
Depending on several factors, #1 being maintenance. Fill appointments are advised every 2-3 weeks to replace lashes that have shed or outgrown naturally. eyelash extensions over 3.5 weeks would be considered a full set.
  • Why do my lashes flip or lay sideways after a few weeks?
Natural eyelashes grow out in a corkscrew motion. Therefore as your natural lashes grow they begin to twist and the attached lash follows. 💫 Refills maintain the dense look of your lash set and to prevent damages from heavy and droopy outgrown lashes✨. Depending on your aftercare and each natural lash cycle, you may need a refill after 2 weeks, or you may need one after 3 weeks.⭐️ During refills, we will remove any outgrown lash extensions that have moved halfway up your natural lash as its grown.🍃 Then we place a new extension/fan on any of the lashes currently without an extension.🌟☁️ If you are leaving your refill longer than 3.5 weeks you are going to be coming to your refill appointment with a lot of natural lashes grown out or without an extension. 🪴 The only option at that point is to do a full set to lash all natural lashes and maintain a full look.🌷
  • Is a lash lift permanent?
No, the lash lift will last as long as the clients natural hair growth cycle, making it a temporary lift of up to 6-8 weeks.
  • How does a lash lift work?
We use 2 key products which temporarily change the structure of the hair, so that the natural hair can be manipulated into the desired position.
  • What are the lash lift "DON'TS" for the first 24 hours AFTER treatment?"
Don’t get your eyelashes wet Don’t apply mascara or eye makeup Don’t sweat Don’t go into a sauna Don’t use oil-based products Don’t rub your eyes
  • Which is better - lash lift or extensions?
They are both amazing treatments, it all depends on what your desired result is and what level of maintenance you prefer.
  • Does a lash lift damage the natural lashes?
No, as long as the treatment is performed correctly and safely. The products are absolutely safe to use for natural lashes.
  • What is a lash lift?
A lash lift works with your natural lashes to create a luscious semi-permanent curl that will last between 6-8 weeks. We use a technique combining a lifting lotion and silicone rods to lift your natural lashes, making them look longer and fuller. We recommend lash lifts as a great alternative to eyelash extensions.
  • How long does a lash lift last and how often can you do it?
The lash lift is designed to last 6-8 weeks and should not be performed any sooner as to maintain the health of the natural lashes.
  • How do I prep for a lash lift?
Prior to your treatment, please make sure your eyes are free of makeup, mascara, and false eyelashes. If you use Latisse or another lash serum, please stop product use for 24-48 hours prior to your appointment. Lastly, if you wear contact lenses please make sure they are removed prior to treatment.
  • Is a lash lift the same as a lash perm?
The lash perm was designed to create a curl within the natural lash which actually appears to shorten the natural lashes, whereas the lash lift has been designed to create maximum length within the natural lash by working the product right onto the root giving amazing definition to the eye area.
  • Why can't I get my eyelashes wet after a lash lift?
It’s best to avoid any type of moisture to your lashes for at least 24 hours following your lash treatment. It’s best to avoid any type of moisture to your lashes for at least 24 hours following your lash treatment. This is because in the immediate hours after the lift, the lashes are returning to a normal PH level. Water, mascara, etc. can weigh down the lashes and compromise the lift that was set via the chemical change from your treatment. Think of it as being similar to getting your hair done at the salon. You wouldn’t want your hair to get rained on after leaving the salon as it would cause the hair to go flat - water would have similar effects to your newly lifted eyelashes.
  • Does brow lamination damage the natural brow hair?
No, as long as the treatment protocol is followed correctly.
  • Can you have brow lamination if you're pregnant?
We would not recommend doing the treatment on a pregnant woman but we do always suggest checking with your own insurance policies for verification.
  • What do I do if a client has quite sparse brows?
This is a great treatment to help fill in areas of sparseness by brushing the brow hairs into those areas, covering them up and creating a fluffier fuller appearance.
  • Is brow lamination the same as microblading?
No, brow lamination is a temporary change of the natural brow hair position whereas micro blading is a procedure using a blade to implement pigment into the skin mimicking natural hair strokes.
  • How do I prep for a brow lamination?
Prior to your brow lamination appointment, we recommend the following: - Avoid using exfoliants, retinoids, or AHAs on your face for one to two weeks before your brow lamination - Avoid tweezing at least one week prior to your appointment (we offer a brow clean-up within your brow lamination if you prefer) - Please come to your appointment without any makeup on your face
  • Can I do brow lamination without a tint?
Yes, especially if you are allergic to tint.
  • What are the brow lamination "DON'TS" for the first 24 hours AFTER treatment?"
Don’t get your eyebrows wet (avoid the shower & bath) Don’t go into a sauna Don’t use oil based products Don’t apply heavy creams, makeup, or makeup remover to your brows Don’t sleep directly on your brows (we know, easier said than done for our stomach sleepers)
  • How long do brow lamination results last and how often can you do it?
The treatment result can last for up to 4-6 weeks and new treatment should not be performed any sooner than that. A brow lamination will last about 6 weeks (again, depending on aftercare). Be sure to follow the “Don’ts” mentioned above in the first 24 hours following your treatment for longevity. In the 48 hours following your treatment, you can apply a hydrating balm or a castor oil to your brows daily. We also recommend brushing your brows in an upright/styled position anytime following a shower (or after getting your brows wet) to help keep their new shape.
  • Is brow lamination permanent?
No, it is a temporary change of the brow hairs lasting up to 4-6 weeks.
  • Does brow lamination hurt?
No, the treatment should be a comfortable and a relaxing experience for you client.
  • Can brow lamination treatment be reversed?
Yes if it's within 24 hours of the treatment and by washing with water.
  • What is brow lamination?
Brow lamination is a treatment that allows us to manipulate the brow hairs into a new desired position, either brushed up and fluffy or more as a corrective treatment for sparse brows.
  • Why can't I get my brows wet after a lamination?
Similar to a lash lift, keeping your brows dry in the 24 hours following your lamination treatment is very important. During the lamination process, we use an assortment of creams as well as a permanent gel to relax and shape your brows. If you get your eyebrows wet too soon after we finish applying these products, your brows do not have a chance to set with their new shape.
  • Can you do brow lamination on a client who has had microblading?
Yes, this is a great addition to a clients brow that has had microblading as long as there are natural brow hairs present.
  • How does brow lamination work?
We use two key products which allow us to restructure and manipulate the hairs into new positions.
  • What do I do if there are gaps in the brows after the lamination treatment?
You can keep the brushing hairs to cover any other gaps or use a finishing product (brow pencil or powder).
  • What's the difference between brow lamination and brow tint?
Brow lamination is a restructuring process of the hairs whereas a brow tint is a process of changing the colour of the brow hairs.
  • What Are Ombré Powder Brows?
Ombré powder brows is a style of powder brows where the artist follows a particular saturation pattern. The ombré effect means the beginning part of the brow is lighter and gradually gets darker towards the tail. This results in a three-dimensional look that is more natural looking and closely resembles natural hair flow. Ombré powder brows work best for clients who have thicker brow hairs or hair growth at the front of the brows. The ombrv effect will allow their natural hairs at the front of the brow shine while resulting in a fluffy yet defined look overall. Ombré powder brows still works but is not the most suitable for clients with no hair at the front of their brow or have very little and thin hairs. These clients usually will ask to darken the front portion of their brows at touchup.
  • Does it hurt?
Pain level varies with the client's pain tolerance, but discomfort during the procedure is generally minimal to non existent. Topical numbing cream is applied prior to application, and may apply more during the procedure upon request.
  • What Is Microblading?
Microblading creates 3D hair-like strokes using a hand held tool, attached with a micro blade. This method is best suited to candidates who have plenty of existing hair in a darker shade. For these clients, microblading can give their brows a full look with more volume. This particular method is not recommended for fine or light hair, as the strokes will be visible and wont blend naturally with the existing hair. Cube Beauty does not offer Microblading. Only Ombré Powder Brows.
  • Do I need to come back for a touch-up?
After your first appointment, you may choose to get a touch up. This is not required, but recommended within 4-8 weeks for best results. Ink retention varies from person to person, but most clients achieve their desired result after 1 initial application + touch up. Touch ups vary from person to person. Many clients come back for a yearly colour boost after their initial application, but those with lighter pigments may want to come more often.
  • How long does it last?
Depending on your skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Ombré powder brows can typically last anywhere from 1-3 years. They will gradually fade over time and need to be touched up.
  • How long will it take to heal?
Healing time varies from individual to individual. The scabbing process is generally 10-14 days; however, the full healing time is 4-6 weeks.
  • Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime associated with the procedure. Clients may experience redness and swelling which should subside within 24 hours.
  • What to Expect During the Healing Process?
Day 1 - 4: Brows will become darker as the ink oxidizes. Brows are still a fresh wound and client must keep it as clean as possible. Day 5 & 6: Brows will begin to feel dry and flakey. Some itchiness may occur and is totally normal. Dav 7-14: Brows will be dry and itchy. Brows may or may not be scabbing during this phase. If they are scabby, make sure to not pick the scabs off and let them fall off naturally. Scabs may fall off in chunks or small pieces. One brow may heal faster than the other and that is normal. Scabs should all fall off naturally between day 10-day 20, while the average is by day 14. Dav 15-20: As the scabbing falls off, the colour underneath the scabs will look very light. This is normal, as it takes a few days for the colour that is deposited into the dermis to rise up to the epidermis (surface level) again. Brows will gradually become slightly darker the week after scabbing. Dav 21: See final colour results
  • What Are Powder Brows?
Powder brows (also known as ombre powder or shading) is a permanent make-up procedure, in which the artist uses a tattoo machine to insert pigment into the top layers of the skin using a dotted technique, or pixelization. As a result, a powdery effect is achieved, and misty, powdered brows are created. Powder brows is in many ways similar to a tattoo. For example, many PMU artists now use rotary tattoo machines (used by body tattoo artists) to create beautiful looking and natural cosmetic tattoos on the face. The biggest difference between body tattoo and PM tattoo is the artist pressure (thus the depth of pigment planted), as well as the pigment used. Some artists in the industry refer to PMU as a semi-permanent procedure, as the brow tattoo usually fades over time. However I consider powder brows as a permanent procedure as we are permanently implanting pigment under a client's skin. Although the pigment particles may disappear over time, the skin has been permanently worked on thus will never be the same as virgin skin.
  • What is eyebrow tint?
Tinting eyebrows is a procedure similar to dying your hair – semi-permanent brow dye is applied to the eyebrow arch area in order to color the brow hairs. The effectiveness of tinting eyebrows lies in the fact that there are many extremely thin hairs in every arch, which, when tinted, add fullness to the arch and fill in sparse patches. The results are completely natural and subtle, which is why brow tinting is a great option for grooming men’s eyebrows, too.
  • Who is a candidate for eyebrow tinting?
Everyone! Okay, there is one exception – if you are prone to allergic reactions to dyes, tinting is not a good idea. In case it’s your first time getting tinted, we will recommend doing a 24-hour patch test. The test is done by applying a small amount of tint on the skin behind your ear or in the crease of your elbow, and tracking any possible reactions. If you notice any burning or itching, or if your skin looks reddish and irritated after rinsing, tinting isn’t the best option for you. Brow tinting is suitable for all skin types and tones, and hair colors. Of course, the darker your natural brow hairs are, less color adjustment can be made. Tinting is especially popular with blonde men and women, who might be under the false impression that microblading for blondes isn’t possible. Gray eyebrows can be tinted, too, but the process needs some adjusting so the results don’t end up patchy and uneven. Gray hairs tend to take in dye less, so it’s best to go to an experienced tech.
  • How long does eyebrow tinting last?
The brows stay tinted for 2-3 weeks, but the results can last as long as 6 weeks, depending on your skin type, skincare routine, and the amount of sunlight exposure your brows get. Sunlight can have a bleaching effect and cause the color to fade more quickly. Another thing to avoid is getting your brows wet for at least 12 hours after the appointment, and avoiding oil-based skincare or makeup products at all times, since they speed up fading. Exfoliation can cause excessive fallout, so it’s best to avoid it around the brow area. Products with retinoids and retinols should also be avoided for a while after tinting, as they can irritate the skin further.
  • Does eyebrow tinting damage eyebrow hairs?
Brow tinting is a totally non-invasive procedure, as there is no damage to the skin at all. Brow dye doesn’t contain bleach, so it’s very gentle and doesn’t damage the hairs or the follicles.
  • What is it like?
Before the dye is applied, the technician prepares the area by cleaning the brows, waxing, or tweezing a bit, if necessary. Also, the technician is applying a petroleum jelly barrier around the arches to prevent any skin staining outside of the arch. The dye is applied to the brows. It is left on for 5-15 minutes depending on the dye shade and the thickness of hairs, and the excess is removed. It’s common for a shade-like residue to stay on the skin underneath the hairs, but this is washed off within a day or two.
  • How long does the treatment take?
Tinting eyebrows takes only about 15 minutes, including consults. You can decide on how natural you want the look to be, and based on that, the technician will mix a customized dye blend. It is usually a shade or two lighter than your hair.
  • Why is it better than a traditional eyebrow tint?
Henna brows are a natural alternative to traditional eyebrow coloring. Traditional eyebrow tints are primarily made of chemicals while most henna brow products are made of natural plant-based ingredients including Lewsonia Insermis aka – henna, a flowering plant commonly used to dye skin, hair and fingernails. With a henna brow product, you are getting a product that is made with 75% plant-based ingredients, contains no lead or ammonia, is vegan-friendly, and requires no chemicals or oxidants to activate, only warm water. This means it’s safer for clients AND for professionals. Plus, unlike traditional chemical-based tints that dry out or damage eyebrows, henna brows coats the hair locking in moisture keeping hair healthy and hydrated which often encourages hair growth. One of the other key benefits of henna brows compared to a traditional eyebrow tint is the fact henna brows not only dye the eyebrow but it is also a brow filler. The henna stains the skin beneath the brows for up to a week with the tint lasting on the eyebrows for 6-8 weeks.
  • I have had reactions to tints in the past is brow henna an option for me?
If you have been sensitive in the past to other tints it is likely that that you may be sensitive to brow henna as well. Please inform your tech of any sensitivities so that a patch test can be preformed. Even if the patch test is successful we can not guarantee you will not have a reaction.
  • What is Henna?
The Latin name for henna is Lawsonia Inermis. It is a kind of bush that grows in the north of Africa, the Middle East and India. Crushed into powder it is used to decorate the skin. The Henna used on your brows is a mixture of 88% natural henna and 12% chemical.
  • Will the henna cover grey hairs or those coarse white hairs?
YES, IT DOES! Due to its unique formulation henna coats the hair which allows it to cover up those pesky greys or those irritating, stubborn coarse white hairs! The henna will cover this stubborn hair for 6-8 weeks!
  • Will henna brows turn my eyebrows a reddish-brown?
You’re probably familiar with henna body art, also known as Mehndi, used in many ancient traditions. The henna dye stains the skin orange to start and darkens over days to a deep reddish-brown due to oxidation. But fear not, by using high-quality henna brow products, your eyebrows will not turn bright orange or change color over time. Your eyebrows will remain true to color. We currently offer four colors available (light brown, medium brown, chocolate or dark brown) to match any complexion or brow color.
  • How long does the service take?
The appointment will take approximately 45-60 minutes. First the brows are measured and sketched to reach as much symmetry as possible. Followed by the application of the Henna which sits on the skin for 5-20 mins.
  • Is Henna 100% natural?
No. The henna used on your brows is 88% natural. Without the chemical component the henna would not last long on the skin or would have to stay on for hours.
  • Is there anything I need to do before my appointment?
Although you do not have to, it is recommended that you exfoliate your brows a couple hours before your appointment. Try this natural exfoliate recipe: 2 Tablespoons of finely ground almonds 2 Tablespoons of coconut oil 1 Teaspoon of honey This can be used to exfoliate your entire face. Rub over your face in a circular motion for 2 minutes and rinse. Please come to your appointment with clean brows!
  • How long do henna brows last?
Traditionally the stain on the skin from henna brows can last 1-2 weeks and the dye on eyebrows lasts 6-8 weeks, which is significantly longer than traditional tints that only last around 4 weeks. With regards to how long the henna lasts on the skin, it really depends on the client’s skin type. Clients with oily complexions or in humid climates may find the stain on the skin does not last as long due to the fact their skin will not hold onto the dye for as long. While we love the fact henna stains the skin the true benefit of henna brows is that it is a far superior eyebrow tint.
  • How do I know if henna brows are for me?
Henna brows can be applied to anyone but will fade faster on those with oily skin. The length of time the tint stays on the skin is also dependent on your daily skin care routine. We do not perform services on people who 14 years old and younger.
  • What is the aftercare for henna brows?
Avoid the following for 24 hours post treatment: Heat including sun tanning Eyebrow makeup Getting the brow area wet Avoid the following to make your brow henna last longer: Oil based products Scrubs and exfoliates
